Ahmed Ali born & bred in NYC then moved to Oakland in the 1980s has partnered with the Hoodlove Company

One day attempting to stop a robbery on the BART in Oakland, got cut from the crease in his elbow down to his wrist of his right hand, his drawing hand. During recovery he learned how to draw with his left hand — after fully recovering he came back to art and created a collection of work that he’d painted with both hands (ambidextrous). The new collection of art was displayed in Kabasa Gallery on 54th & 10th Ave in the heart of the Crenshaw District a few blocks away from Leimert Park.
